TOWER TECHNICIAN – Full-Time Position

Tower Systems is a family-operated business headquartered in Watertown, South Dakota, with a division in Winter Park, Florida, and a satellite office in Angle Inlet, Minnesota. We have a global footprint and provide services wherever they are needed.

Salary: $24 - $29 per hour based on experience and practical tests

Job Summary

Tower Systems is actively hiring experienced Tower Technicians to perform all aspects of new construction, decoms, upgrades, co-locations, inspections, microwave, mapping, tower lighting, civils, and foundations. Installations and maintenance on all types of towers up to 800’ tall.

Qualifications

• Must be motivated and of good moral character, dependable, and honest

• Understands and adheres to best industry standards

• Proficient use of PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, printer, camera

• Comprehends construction drawings, assembly drawings, RF data sheets, etc.

• Proficient in general industry knowledge, including rigging, knot tying, and signaling

• Knowledge of equipment use; driving trucks with enclosed trailers. Boom trucks (CDL required), skid steer, mini-excavator, etc.

• Knowledge of gin pole, winch, and capstan hoisting procedures

• Must exhibit good physical stamina to climb towers with the ability to lift, pull, and push 80 lbs.

• Able to work in different weather conditions, hot or cold.

• Must be able to crouch, kneel, twist, and climb with both hands

• Trade certifications are a plus

• Six-week rotations with a week off between rotations

• Willingness to travel extensively, away from the home market, nationally and internationally. Passport a plus.

• Clean driving record.

• CDL license or crane certification is a plus

Work Schedule

• Monday – Saturday, up to 60 hours a week. Hours set by project requirements and management.

• Varying amounts of overtime may be required, based on job requirements.

• Corporate office located in Watertown, SD, with a southeastern division in Orlando, FL.
